West End Ave Apartment
A 2,200 square foot apartment on the Upper West Side was completely renovated for an empty-nester family interested in a rich palette of various natural woods. English sycamore, Anigre, cherry, black walnut and quarter-sawn maple were used in a painterly fashion in the paneling, ceilings, parquetry floors and cabinetry throughout. Finely tailored plaster ornament was applied to the ceiling to remedy the unfortunate beam treatment of the original building. Unusual colors in the materials throughout lift the interiors above staid traditionalism.
