Stephen F. Byrns
Partner Emeritus
After 30+ years as a founding partner of BKSK, Stephen Byrns became the full-time president of the Untermyer Gardens Conservancy, which he founded in 2011, and shifted to Partner Emeritus with BKSK.
His contribution to our portfolio of work has been profound. Stephen’s most emblematic projects weave together the uniqueness of residents, local histories, and physical settings in order to celebrate context. These include a townhouse in Carnegie Hill, winner of a Neighborhood Enrichment Award; a restored 150-year old home in Riverdale, winner of a Palladio Award; and the conversion of a historic Hudson Valley mansion into the headquarters of three non-profits.
We see his new role as a natural and rewarding example of BKSK’s collective commitment to both protect the natural environment and to honor society.
