Harsen House is a new 16-story, 60,000 square foot mixed-use condominium tower in the Upper West Side Historic District. The modern design of the building resonates with architectural patterns drawn from the historic context and engages in a respectful and dynamic dialogue with its neighbors. The limestone base and top floor offer a sense of deference to 72nd Street’s prevailing tall building composition, while the overtly asymmetrical composition of the other floors highlights the contemporary building technology that a new development can now offer. The project is the first residential building on the Upper West Side to achieve LEED certification.
