601 Washington in the West Village includes 10 high-end condominium residences, including two triplex private townhouses and two four-level penthouse units. The condominium building presented the rare opportunity to create a street-side, south-facing courtyard, afforded by the long and narrow full block site. The courtyard provides generous private garden entrances to the triplex townhouse units. The remaining units are half-floor apartments. All residences have at least two exposures, and the townhouses and penthouses have South, East and West exposures. A central court allows plentiful light and air to penetrate the building’s apartments, as well as the public core. The building’s base is distinguished by largescale windows set deep within a carved multi-layered masonry shell, while the top three floors are glazed and layered with amazing views of the Hudson River and downtown Manhattan.

BKSK Interiors also led the full interior design, which includes extending the stone masonry language on the exterior to many elements on the interior, such as full-height stone-clad bathrooms throughout.
