Citizen on 23rd Street

Rising 16 stories on one of Manhattan’s most romanticized crosstown thoroughfares, Citizen on 23rd Street is a new 34-unit residential development that takes cues from the rich masonry vocabulary of nearby landmarks Hotel Chelsea and London Terrace. The street façade employs glazed terra cotta to articulate a contemporary crafted cornice and lattice-like spandrels. In the building’s lower portion, the main living space on each floor features continuous floor-to-ceiling French doors that open onto a juliette balcony. The LEED Gold certified project couples innovative building systems with a high-performance exterior envelope to result in exceedingly energy-efficient residences.
