Marlow | 82nd Street
Marlow is a 10-story boutique, luxury condominium development located in the heart of Manhattan’s Upper West Side, nestled among the neighborhood’s signature brownstones. BKSK Architects, the interior designer and architect, updated a classic pre-war apartment building to reflect the modern lifestyle of individuals and families, and the redesign of the floor layouts produced a range of unit sizes. The condo contains 27 residences, from studios to a four-bedroom penthouse duplex. The units include modern features such as open kitchens and spacious baths, while maintaining the building’s original architectural character including over-scaled base moldings, and picture rails. The expressed drop beam ceilings showcase the scale and grandeur of the pre-war building, and the existing columns help define the generous living spaces.
The 1926 building has a different appeal than a ground-up development. Marlow encapsulates history, charm, and architectural integrity while boasting sophisticated, modern-day finishes, layouts, and amenities. Existing special pre-war architectural details are augmented and complemented by new trims and details in a refined material palette. The bespoke design of Marlow coupled with the ideal Upper West Side location caters to a neighborly, outdoor-centric lifestyle. The development features family-friendly and outdoor amenities including a residents’ lounge with a kitchenette, a children’s playroom, a gym, a laundry room, a tranquil courtyard, and a landscaped rooftop terrace with panoramic views of the city and a BBQ area. Marlow connects residents to classic New York architecture while offering upscale amenities and features.
