Brooklyn Heights Synagogue

Brooklyn Heights Synagogue is a five story religious institution located on 131 Remsen Street, Brooklyn, New York. The former Brooklyn Club was reborn as a modern and timeless new synagogue. The space sequence creates a transformative passage that leads from the historic streets of Brooklyn Heights into the austere sanctuary. Decorative details gradually give way to a primary palette of stone, wood and light-washed white walls. A townhouse-scale intimacy provides defined spaces for spiritual reflection, educational and social activities.
