Imagine Early Learning Centers are dedicated to the nurturing and education of young children, and offer both full and part-time care. For this new facility in the DUMBO neighborhood of Brooklyn, a 3,350 square foot raw ground floor retail space was transformed into classrooms and administrative offices, connected by an entrance gallery that opens onto to the street. The entrance gallery connects the infant, toddler and pre-school rooms and forms a highly visible, public face. The open floor plans of the classrooms maximize visibility. Colorful flooring materials are used throughout the spaces to define zones for individual and collaborative play. BKSK carefully selected finish materials that contain recycled content and ensure healthy indoor air quality. The facility was designed for compliance with the New York City Bureau of Day Care regulations.
