Post Hill Pool House
BKSK worked with Jamie Purinton, Landscape Architect, to reimagine the outdoor spaces of this family home in upstate New York. The scope included the removal of a large deck, replaced by sitting areas nestled in gardens and framed by stone walls. The existing pool area was also re-landscaped and anchored by a new pool house. The pool house- constructed of Alaskan yellow cedar slats- houses a kitchenette, storage room, changing area and bathroom and an outdoor shower. The wood slats will age to a soft grey, while the interior spaces will maintain the warmth of the cedar. The floating roof is painted a dark brown, to match the surrounding tree trucks, and to seamlessly blend the structure into the landscape.
