She utilizes her knowledge of the built and natural environment to inform each of her projects, paying particular attention to site and landscape. Cindy has been promoted from Senior Project Manager to Associate. Currently, Cindy is working on the New Douglaston Little Neck Library and the Battery Playscape, on track to be completed by the end of 2021.
Hear from Cindy:
What am I looking forward to as you step into your new role?
“I look forward to understanding better how the ship is steered and taking a more active role.”
What is the most fulfilling thing about being an architect at BKSK?
“The translation to built form of years of work and collaboration. There is a lot of uncertainty and iteration in the design process, and then one day there is a specific building that begins to take shape on site, and you know that it will be there for a long time and become part of people’s stories and lives.”
What is your favorite project?
“The Battery Playscape is a collection of small, intricate projects, each offering a unique experience for children, and all with a sophisticated range of materials and details. As I cycled through these projects, I was continually challenged to solve problems I had never encountered before. I feel sure that future users of the Playscape will benefit from the thoughtfulness and design ambition that infuse this playground.”
