The Redevelopment of Gansevoort Row Film

BKSK presents The Redevelopment of Gansevoort Row!

Our newest documentary short is a 7-minute film exploring BKSK’s redevelopment of the city-block long set of buildings on Gansevoort Row in the Meat Packing District and the Gansevoort Market Historic District. The block between Greenwich and Washington Streets transformed throughout the 20th and 21st century, and with BKSK Architects latest intervention creating new commercial office and retail spaces next to the High Line and the Whitney Museum of Art. This film explores this triumph through interviews with the Partners in charge of the project, sweeping views of the buildings, and illustrations of the process.

It was thoughtfully filmed and edited by Daniel Blanc, a young designer, and a former student of BKSK Partner, Julie Nelson. A graduate of The City College of New York, Daniel works for J Frankl Architects and explores photography and filmmaking for independent projects.
