Charlotte of the Upper West Side in Gotham

Charlotte of the Upper West Side was featured in a Gotham Magazine article titled, On The Market: NYC’s Charlotte Of The Upper West Side Is A Show-Stopper by Alexis Hampton.

“Charlotte of the Upper West Side may claim the crown for the most sustainable residential building in New York City, even boasting a Passive House certification (a standard for energy efficiency known to reduce energy consumption for heating and cooling systems). Built by Manhattan-based BKSK Architects between Central and Riverside parks, it’s surrounded by cultural landmarks like the Beacon Theater and Lincoln Center.

Inside, environmentally conscientious terra-cotta louver systems, outside the floor-to-ceiling windows, provide a shading effect, brightening the space year-round. All wood products, from the floors to doors, are Forest Stewardship Council certified, coming from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social and economic benefits. Comprised of seven full-floor residences, Charlotte features a Swiss-engineered energy recovery ventilation system that ushers in fresh, outside air.”
