111 Charles Street Receives Brick in Architecture Award

A modern, red-brick apartment building with a wavy roofline, large rectangular windows, and street-level businesses. Pedestrians walk on the sidewalk, and a white van is parked at the curb. The sky is clear and blue.

111 Charles, a stunning mixed-use project in Greenwich Village, received a ‘Brick in Architecture’ Award from the Brick Industry Association. Located at the intersection of Hudson and Charles Streets, this sculptural façade brings a fresh, modern presence while honoring the neighborhood’s historic rhythm. The curved brick wall is formed by a series of intricate recesses that gradually deepen from the lower to the upper floors, culminating in the most significant setback just before the cantilevered brick cornice. Additionally, the mortar was tinted to match the brick color, allowing for a more monolithic reading to the wall and accentuating the sculptural reading of the building. The sleek finish reflects light beautifully, creating a clean, polished look that complements the building’s bold form. Congratulations to the entire team!
